As I made one of my daily PB sandwiches (I am not a "J" kind of guy), I thought about why I am eating it. The last few weeks have been fun and frustrating at the same time, but thanks to the hard work, my metabolism is as speedy as ever. I also thought about the workload I have done over the past few days:
- Thursday: Sprint intervals
- Friday: 2.5 hours with Andy Lobonc and the SLU Cycling team, no hard efforts
- Saturday: 1 hour with pickups on my TT bike (this was cut short due to a poorly-timed flat)
- Sunday: Race (It went well) and Kettle Bell workout
- Monday: 2 hours with Lobonc with a few pickups
- Tuesday: Race (Not so well)
Two races, a lot of intensity, kettle bells and no dedicated "recovery" day has resulted in legs that are still sore. With my first goal of the season approaching, I am hoping to recover and fine-tune my form before the big day arrives.
Back to the peanut butter reference/title.....Basically, I am trying to teach myself how to listen to my body and not overdo the work. Lesson: Spread it out so every bite is amazing.
